WHY INSTALL DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTERS?
The need for mining and industrial companies to invest in diesel particulate filters is becoming increasingly more urgent. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the US Environmental Protection Agency, particulates from diesel engines exhaust emissions are today responsible for 5% of all respiratory cancer.
Because the mining industry in Australia uses a significant number of diesel-powered vehicles, investing in technology to help reduce the associated occupational health and safety risks is essential.
Mineworks Group have been appointed as the national service agent for the industry-leading MANN+HUMMEL range of diesel particulate filters.
The MANN+HUMMEL diesel particulate filters provide ground-breaking technology in the field of exhaust gas cleaning via a sintered metal element. The filters can be fitted to all diesel engines used in commercial vehicles, construction machines and stationary plants. The SintAC and SintROC systems are specially designed for an underground environment and is suitable for OEM products and the retrofit markets.

Mineworks Group provide a complete installation service with the support of our Workshop Services division. Alongside this new filter technology, Mineworks Group service & maintain the MANN+HUMMEL ECU data logger, which has been designed exclusively for the purpose of monitoring and controlling diesel particulate filter systems.

Mineworks Group have recently successfully completed a full diesel particulate installation programme at the Esperance Port Authority. Independent analysis of the air quality following the installation of the MANN & HUMMEL diesel particulate filters has shown that all air quality parameters were less that than the exposure standards or recommended levels. For diesel particulates, the readings showed that NO particulates were detected in and out of the operators’ cabin.
